Local make-up artist scores big at film festival
The Turks and Caicos Islands Film Festival has begun to provide worthwhile opportunities for locals in a number of ways, including on a professional level. One of those who benefited was make-up artist Shenique Higgs, who was contracted to work her magic on some of the Festival's participants, including head honcho, and executive producer Jasmine Guy. Higgs said she actually relished the opportunity as a local, to provide such a service for the internationally acclaimed actors and producers. “I was introduced to Jasmine Guy by my jewelry designer friend, Alicia Shulman. I met Alicia earlier this year at The Somerset Fashion Show. Alicia's jewelry was featured in the show and I provided make-up artistry for the models in the show.” She noted that the following day Shulman contacted her and invited her to provide make-up artistry for a jewelry photo shoot she was directing at The Somerset.
